Compozite cement; is a common term that describes slabs
produced from fiber-reinforced cement and is generally
used all over the world. The common feature of fibercement
sheets is that they are produced with organic or inorganic
fibers, as reinforcing element, and cement, as binding element.
Compozite cement sheets are covered by EN 12476 Standard.
Two different methods are used in the production of composite
cement sheets: Curing and Autoclave. According to the
purpose of use, in order to provide improvement the properties
of fcomposite cement panels such as heat insulation, electrical
resistance, fire resistance etc. different additives may be added
to their composition during production of panels. In recent
years, composite cement sheets that are the most preferred
cladding material on exterior façades; have a different place
from other cladding materials in terms of both aesthetics and
strength. Composite cement panels can be used as both
interior and exterior cladding material. It protects the exterior
façade from adverse weather conditions and provides an
aesthetic contribution to the façade as a cladding or surface
coating material. There are two types of cement-based fiber
cement sheets produced by pressing at high density; colour
through panels and surface coated panels.Colour-through
fomposite cement panels are produced by mixing the desired
dye pigments into the dough homogeneously during
production. Production of surface coated composite cement
panels is carried out by processing colour or pattern with
artificial resin on high density pressed plate and by coating UV
protection filter on the surface. The density of composite
cement sheets is about 1300-1400 kg/m3. That is,
approximately 10 kg load per square meter.Composite cement
sheets with an average thickness of 10 mm are used in facade
claddings. If the plaster is applied to the façade, instead of composite
cement façade cladding, approximately 30-40mm thick plaster should
be applied. The density of the plaster is 2000 kg / m3. Accordingly,
the composite cement façade cladding is lighter than the plaster. Two
layers of plaster are made also in the sheathing process which is
made with the purpose of thermal insulation only and ultimately, the
load on the façade is more than the composite cement cladding. In
summary, an additional risk in terms of earthquake is not added to
buildings covered with composite cement cladding. Production of

cement boards can be safely used in all kinds of buildings and
building types, especially in public housing, public buildings,
commercial buildings, factories and villa projects. Skyscrapers /
Universities / Dormitory buildings / Hospitals / Metro and Tunnels /
Shopping centers / Residential restorations / Businesses and villas /
Prefabricated buildings are some of them.
WHAT IS COMPOSITE CEMENT?
WHY COMPOSITE CEMENT?
Composite cement boards, which are preferred due to their
technical advantages and decorative appearance, prevent the
building façade from being deformed and damaged from
external factors when used on the exterior façade. They have
positive effects on heat and sound insulation with the effect of
the fixing method. Being resistant to fire and flaming and being
suitable for all season conditions are some of the technical
advantages of the boards. Being anti bacterial and waterproof,
being not containing and producing any substance harmful, to
human health and the environment, no discoloration due to sun
and heat, no fading and no swelling on the surfaces of the
panels are the main reasons why panels are
preferred.Composite cement boards, which are a human and
environmentally friendly material, do not have any gas
emissions to the environment in time or due to atmospheric
conditions or during a possible fire. Maintenance free,
composite cement boards have very long life; there is no
predicted life expectancy for both cement and silica, their
lifetime is theoretically infinite when appropriate protection
measures are taken.Composite cement boards are extremely
durable because they are produced under high temperature
and pressure and show high resistance against impact. It is
very resistant to atmospheric conditions depending on raw
materials in its structure and production procedure.
Composite cement panels are not affected by ultraviolet rays.It
is also highly resistant to animal waste and chemicals
(especially alkalis), except for descalers.Other features that
differentiate composite cement façade cladding from other
façade cladding materials; composite cement boards are not
affected by water and sea water.
They're waterproof. Water absorption rate of the panels is lower
than that of reinforced concrete buildings. The panels do not swell
in water, do not mold and are not affected by moisture. They can be
used safely in humid climates, the volumetric changes in water are
very low (maximum 0.5 mm / m when left in water for 24 hours).
Since they are not affected by sea water moisture, they can be used
safely on the exterior walls of buildings in coastal areas.Composite
cement boards, although not an isolation material alone, has
extremely good heat values. When the panels are used with
materials with high insulation value, very good heat and sound
insulation can be obtained.Since the panels adhere very well to
various insulation materials (polystyrene foam, etc.), they can also
be used as sandwich panels for various purposes.Composite
cement boards are compared with equivalent materials; the
coefficients of expansion are very low, with the correct joint
application, no problems are seen in the joints of the panels. They
can be easily processed with suitable hand tools, they are quick and
easy to assemble and disassemble. They saves time and labor
since they remove fine plaster workmanship in buildings. Since
composite cement is a breathable material it allows the building to
breathe.Composite cement boards are lightweight and easily
transportable (weight of an 8mm thick sheet is approximately 11
kg/m2 depending on the humidity of the environment). They are
frost resistant and can be used safely even in the coldest
climates.Composite cement panels can be painted with acrylic
exterior paint and plastic interior paint due to the cement in their
structures. The panels are odorless, insect free and do not rot.
